The summary, in four sentences.

You can subscribe for €5.99 a month or €59.99 a year (or the equivalent price Apple sets in your country), with a 3-day free trial, and cancel whenever you like, with no minimum term and no penalty.

What you create in the app is yours: your lists, your projects and the documents you export.

The app is a working tool, not a technical certificate: all its calculations are for guidance only, the real result depends on the equipment, the cabling and the conditions on each shoot, and they must always be checked before you rely on them.

Final responsibility for an installation, a load or a timesheet always lies with the professional who carries it out.

1. What this app is

Your Lighting Check (the “app”) is a tool for gaffers, electricians and film lighting crews. It lets you build equipment lists, calculate power draw, phase balance, voltage drop, cable and generator capacity and weights, work with the voltages, equipment, units and currency of different countries, keep a project calendar and each project's crew, record working terms with templates based on collective agreements, prepare timesheets and export everything to PDF, Excel and image. It is available in Spanish and English.

The owner is Saúl Huerta Montalvo (the “owner”). Contact: support@yourlightingcheck.com

The app is intended for professionals in the film, television and live-events industries, who use it with the knowledge needed to assess its results.

2. The subscription

3. Right of withdrawal and refunds

Where the law of your country gives consumers a right of withdrawal (in the European Union and the United Kingdom, 14 days from purchase), you keep that right.

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled directly by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you have any problem with a charge, write to us as well and we will help you with it.

4. Free access

Certain specific accounts have full access at no cost, granted by the owner. This access is personal, non-transferable and may be withdrawn at any time without giving rise to any right to compensation.

5. Your content is yours

6. Responsible use

Please do not use the app for unlawful activities, try to break its security or resell access to third parties.

If we detect a serious breach, we will tell you and give you a reasonable period to put it right before taking any action. Only in cases of obvious fraud or harm to other users might we suspend access immediately, and always with a refund of the unused part of your subscription.

7. The calculations are an aid, not a certificate

The app calculates power draw, phase balance, voltage drop, capacities, weights and amounts from catalogue data and from what you enter. These results are for guidance only: an aid to the professional’s work, not a certified calculation.

They are not an electrical installation design or calculation, nor a load calculation for structures, rigging points, hoists or vehicles, nor employment, tax or legal advice. They do not replace review by a competent technician, the judgement of the person responsible for each installation, or compliance with the rules that apply in each country.

On set, the real result of a phase balance or a voltage drop can vary for reasons outside the calculation: the actual cable cross-section, its condition, its temperature or how it is laid, connectors and joints, the actual generator voltage, or the mode, level and inrush peaks of each fixture.

Before using any figure or result from the app, check it by appropriate means. The final verification of any installation, its sizing, its protection devices and its safety is the responsibility of the competent professional or technician who carries it out and signs it off, as are any decisions taken on the basis of the app.

8. Data and calculations may contain errors

Equipment specifications (power draw, power, weight, dimensions, cable section, current rating and so on) come from information published by manufacturers, distributors and rental companies, and from our own measurements. They may be incomplete, contain errors, be out of date or vary between units. Where a figure isn’t available, the total may not include it.

In addition, the app may contain programming errors affecting any of its functions, present or future, including power totals, phase balance, voltage drop, capacities, weights, conversions between regions, voltages and units, and timesheet amounts.

The verified-brand badge means that the manufacturer or its distributor has authorised the use of its data or images in the app; it does not mean that they have checked every figure.

9. Availability of the service

We work to keep the app available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation, as it also depends on your device, your connection and third-party services.

Most of the app works offline: you can work on set without signal and your data will sync when you are back online.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the owner shall not be liable for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app, including but not limited to: damage to property or personal injury; faults or incidents in electrical installations, generators or equipment; delays, stoppages or cancellations of shoots, events or jobs; loss of income, work, clients, data or business opportunities; penalties; pay differences or employment claims; and third-party claims, where these arise from:

In any event, and to the same extent permitted by law, the owner’s total liability to each user, on any basis, is limited to the amount that user has actually paid for the app during the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow it to be excluded or limited, such as for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or for the rights that consumer law gives you and which cannot be waived.

We recommend exporting your important projects regularly, as you would with any other working tool.

11. New features

These terms apply to all functions of the app, including those added or changed in future versions, from the moment they become available.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will notify you in the app at least 30 days in advance. If the changes are to your disadvantage, you may cancel your subscription before they take effect and we will refund the unused part.

13. Severability

If any of these clauses is held to be void or unenforceable, in whole or in part, that will not affect the rest, which will remain valid, and the clause concerned will apply to the fullest extent the law allows.

14. Governing law and complaints

These terms are governed by Spanish law. This does not deprive you of the protection given to you by the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and as a consumer you keep the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.

Before that, write to us: almost everything can be sorted out by email. If you live in the European Union, you can also contact the European Consumer Centres Network.

These terms are a translation of the Spanish version. Both versions have the same content.
